I took a quick evening trip to Rocky Mountain National Park on June 24. I was there from about 5:00 until about 9:00 to see what kind of wildlife I could find. There was significant haze in the air, probably due to the High Park wildfire burning less than 20 miles away. It was also a bit overcast.

I di dfind some elk, mamots, and a pica to take pictures of. It was a quick but wonderful and relaxing trip. Lighting was far from perfect, but I think some of the animals I saw were magnificent.

This is a picture of the smoke plume from the devastating High Park Fire northwest of Fort Collins.
