Lori and took our annual spring trip to Yellowstone. We were joined by Jean and Honani Polequaptewa, who we had not spent time with in over 10 years. We had a very pleasant trip, despite the cold, rainy, and snowy weather. There was abundant wildlife and the thermal features were wonderful to view with Jean and Honani.

As Lori and I were driving up to Steamboat Point, we saw a line of cars parked and then saw a grizzly bear between the road and Lake Yellowstone. We parked and observed/photographed the bear for an hour or so.

A Park Ranger said this was a 6-year old sow. Based on the markings, I believe it could be an offspring of Blaze.

The bear eventually wandered down to the lake and hopped over a series of rocks, making for wonderful, but distant, photography.
