First spring trip to Yellowstone. I had a great time and saw wonderful sights. The wildlife viewing and photographing were superb. The weather was cold and snowy for most of the trip. I had an absolutely wonderful time.

For my last full day in Yellowstone, I decided to go to the Lamar Valley, hoping the weather would be better at that lower elevation. A mudslide closed the road from Mamoth to Tower, so I did not make to the Lamar Valley. That worked out well, because it turned out to be the single best day for watching and photographing wildlife.

I found this grizzly bear near the Grizzly Lake trailhead. It was searching for rodents, and caught one.
