We took a fall trip to Yellowstone again this year. My sister Fran joined me for the first week and Lori was able to join me for the second week. The trip had variable, but generally warm weather. The elk were largely absent, but we did see a few distant bulls with harems. Other wildlife was pretty abundant, but as is often the case in Yellowstone, they were pretty distant.

As we were driving through the Hayden Valley in beautiful evening light, we came upon a group of buffalo between the road and the Yellowstone River. We stopped and I took many pictures in the magical light.
