We took a fall trip to Yellowstone again this year. My sister Fran joined me for the first week and Lori was able to join me for the second week. The trip had variable, but generally warm weather. The elk were largely absent, but we did see a few distant bulls with harems. Other wildlife was pretty abundant, but as is often the case in Yellowstone, they were pretty distant.

We spent an evening along the Madison River looking for elk again. The light was wonderful, but there were no elk. We did find this wonderfully-lit Great Blue Heron and I took quite a few shots of it.
