Lori and I took our spring trip to Yellowstone a bit later this year, hoping for a bit drier weather and to be there when more of the trails opened for the season.

We arrived at Steamboat Geyser about 20 t0 30 minutes after it errupted. The water phase lasted just a bit over 20 minutes and we got there during the initial steam phase. While we were there, it went back into a water phase.

We got soaked, but it was a wonderful experience to see the power of this geyser.

There was a lone sandhill crane in the large meadow at Fountain Flats. It was quite closeto the road so we stoppedto watch it and I took a few pictures.
