I took my annual fall trip to Yellowstone. I was gone 2 weeks. Lori was with me for the first week, and when she left Fran joined me along with Greg Chandler for 3 days. I spent the remainder there by myself. Weather was great and wildlife watching was the best ever.

The next day Lori and I returned to the Lamar Valley to check on the elk carcas. On the way there, we saw this makel grizzly bear right off the road just to the west of where it crosses the Lamar river. Spectacular bear and spectacular setting among the mature aspen.
